Jackfish Lures Trout Spinner Series
I had the opportunity to test Jackfish Lures new Trout Spinner Series this past season and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my thoughts on them. The two characteristics that I value the most about Jackfish Lures is their quality in craftsmanship, and the fact that they build non-toxic lures that can be used in the national parks. They have been manufacturing lures for over 15 years and best of all they are local to Alberta.
Each set of the Trout Spinner Series comes with five spinners all in different colours and feather tail patterns. One distinct feature about these spinners is their weight; they cast a lot further then most other brands, which becomes crucial when you're battling the wind. Another characteristic is how responsive they are; other brands require a sweep of the rod tip after each cast to trigger the spinner to spin properly, but with Jackfish lures I could start my retrieval right away, and it wouldn't even choke out if I slowed down my retreival speed. These spinners are equipped with single hooks that are hand tied with a feather tail dressing, which performs excellent by snagging less when you gotta get your spinner close to the bottom of a water bed, or if your fishing close to cover. A subtle feature most anglers don't realize is that most other spinner brands don't allow for hook changes, but these spinners come with a split ring so you can switch your hooks for whatever the day calls for, which is huge when targeting different trout species or changing between fishing deep or shallow water.
Jackfish Lures isn't sold in any major outdoor retailers, so you'll have to go straight to the source and purchase online. I highly recommend these spinners, they are a durable, versatile spinner that perform well when fishing for Trout in all conditions, and best of all your supporting an Alberta based fishing business.
